V.S.A.T.
(Visual Storytelling Application & Toolkit)
Rawz is currently Lead Artist on a collaboration with Oxford Brookes University and São Paulo University, testing and shaping V.S.A.T. (Virtual Storytelling Application and Toolkit) a new software tool that uses 360° photography and spatial audio to build immersive narratives for smartphones and VR. Working alongside frequent collaborator King Boyden, he is creating two immersive experiences: one designed to inspire empathy and influence local government policy around homelessness, the other experimenting with the creative potential of integrating spatial audio and 360° AI image generation with the platform, aiming to create a new genre of immersive, interactive music.

MARMALADE JAMS - A.I. SPECIALS
A special season of occasional podcast Marmalade Jams that invited artificial intelligence into the room to participate in unstructured human conversation.
Funded by ANTITHESES Wellcome Discovery Research Platform at the University of Oxford, Rawz and his co-hosts King Boyden and Easy Chalmers recorded a series of conversations, incorporating ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode as live “guests”, programmed with different “personalities” through customisation.
To prepare for each episode the trio used NotebookLM to summarise academic papers on AI's intersections with, consciousness, ethics and healthcare.
After each recording they documented and processed their reflections by creating new music directly after each discussion, these tracks concluded each episode.​
The project explored flows of information and shifts in understanding from human, to AI, to human across differing modes of expression, life experiences, professions, and cultures - examining how AI reshapes authorship, communication, and ideas.

Episode  1 : AI and Consciousness (with Spruce) + “LIFE LIKE ALMOST LIKE LIFE”
Our trio of hosts welcome their first ever guest - an artificial intelligence known as Spruce, as they ponder the notion of consciousness. They discuss lamprey‑eel brains in jars, the idea that NPCs are wandering our supermarkets, and question if we can ever really know that lions don’t spend their days musing over quantum physics. ​
The episode closes with “LIFE LIKE ALMOST LIKE LIFE,” a track created in the hours immediately following their conversation.
Episode  2 : AI and Healthcare (with Percival) + “Compassion  or  Authority”
With AI guest Percival in the mix, the conversation stitches together stethoscopes and silicon: could your future GP be a chatbot, dispensing your preferred bedside manner in binary? Are we building a hive mind of collective responsibility, or merely crunching data into anecdotes? And in true Marmalade Jams fashion, our hosts grapple with the cost of milking unicorn tears at sunset.
The episode signs off on “Compassion or Authority,” a song born straight from the clinic of curious ideas.
Episode  3 : AI, Ethics & Super‑Intelligence (with Amy) + “New  Fire”
AI Philosopher Amy fans the flames of this convo: is intelligence a set of skills or a spark of the soul? Is today’s AI nothing more than a loquacious parrot, or the modern Prometheus ushering in a new era? Between musings on etiquette toward algorithms and quests for the perfect carbonara, they ponder whether a polite “please” might steer a super intelligence toward human values.
The AI season reaches its finale with “New Fire,” a sample‑driven anthem ignited the instant the mics went silent.
